The story

Where art, architecture and wine become one

Created by Norwegian-Uruguayan entrepreneurs Alexander and Carrie Vik, VIK is a once-in-a-generation project in the hidden Millahue valley (“place of gold”) in Cachapoal. After studying 4,000 hectares and selecting the best terroir across 11 microclimates, they built a sustainable gravity-flow bodega crowned by a sculptural titanium roof and a hilltop art hotel filled with contemporary works. The icon red VIK and La Piu Belle have placed Chile on the fine-wine map. Tourevo arranges private full-day visits with a house sommelier, away from any group circuit.

The titanium-roof bodega

A gravity-flow winery built into the hillside, crowned by a floating titanium roof that collects water and shades a reflecting pool — one of the most photographed wine buildings in the world.

Art across the estate

The hotel and grounds hold a contemporary art collection — sculpture, murals and design — set against vineyards and the Andes foothills, on a guided walk.

11 microclimates

VIK selected its terroir after studying 4,300 hectares; your guide explains how Cabernet, Carmenère, Syrah and Cabernet Franc each find their ideal slope.

Icon tasting with a sommelier

Taste the flagship VIK, the elegant Milla Cala and the bold La Piu Belle with a house sommelier — blend philosophy, aging and pairings in a private setting.

“The Jaguar XF, the bilingual driver and an itinerary built exactly to our taste. We visited three vineyards, Valparaíso and the Neruda House without lifting a finger. We’ll be back.”

VIK winery tour from Santiago · everything you need to know

A VIK winery tour is the most design-forward wine experience in Chile. The estate sits in the remote Millahue valley, about 2 hours from Santiago, so we run it as a private full day — bodega architecture, the art collection and an icon tasting, door-to-door, without a group bus or a rental car.

Travelers ask whether VIK is worth the drive, what the tasting includes and if lunch is available. VIK has been named the most awarded boutique winery in South America, and the private tour at USD 285 per person bundles the architecture tour with a sommelier-led tasting of VIK, Milla Cala and La Piu Belle. You can add a gourmet lunch at the Milla Milla restaurant, and combine VIK with Montes in Apalta for a two-icon Colchagua–Cachapoal day.

Frequently asked questions

FAQ · VIK tour

What does the private VIK tour include?

Round-trip hotel pickup from Santiago in a Jaguar XF or Porsche Cayenne, a bilingual driver-guide, an architecture tour of the titanium-roof bodega, a walk through the art collection and vineyards, and a premium tasting of VIK, Milla Cala and La Piu Belle with a house sommelier. An optional gourmet lunch at Milla Milla is quoted separately.

Is VIK worth the trip?

If you love design, architecture and fine wine, absolutely. VIK has been named the most awarded boutique winery in South America, and its titanium-roof bodega and hilltop art hotel are unlike anything else in Chile. As a private full day, the 2-hour drive each way is comfortable and door-to-door.

Which wines will I taste?

The tasting centers on VIK’s portfolio: the flagship VIK (a Cabernet-led Bordeaux blend), the approachable Milla Cala and the bold, Carmenère-forward La Piu Belle. Exact labels and vintages vary with availability.

How far is VIK from Santiago?

VIK is in the Millahue valley, near San Vicente de Tagua Tagua, about 2 hours from Santiago. Because of the distance and the depth of the experience, we run it as a full-day private tour.

Can I have lunch at VIK?

Yes. The Milla Milla restaurant inside the estate offers a gourmet pairing lunch with valley views. We coordinate the reservation; lunch is paid directly and quoted separately.

Can I combine VIK with another winery?

Yes — the natural pairing is VIK + Montes in Apalta, two architectural icons across the Cachapoal and Colchagua valleys. We also design overnight Colchagua escapes.
